NCAA March Madness Selection Sunday
The March Madness Selection Sunday will be televised live on TBS. TBS also will broadcast unveiling of the 68 college basketball teams during the selection Sunday show. Every year the Selection Sunday show broadcast live and This is the first time since 1982 that CBS not broadcasting the Selection Sunday Show wheres the TBS will broadcast selection Sunday show for the first time in 2018 NCAA March Madness.
The Selection Sunday Show will begin at 6 P.M. ET and you can watch the Selection Sunday show live at TBS or stream online with the NCAA.COM or using the NCAA March Madness app.
2018 NCAA March Madness Tournament Schedule
NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball tournament game consist on several rounds and the rounds are named, in order first to last:
- First Four
- First Round
- Second Round
- Sweet Sixteen
- Elite Eight
- Final Four
The name First four doesn’t mean the number of teams, It’s because of the number of game. The first four games are played by four lowest-ranked at-large teams and the four lowest-ranked automatic-bid teams. The first four game in NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball held first during 2011 and it’s continually playing every year since then.
The first four game held to determine which team will assume a place in the first round. The first Four game played earlier in the first week between the selection Sunday and the First Round game. The first Two games in First Four played on the Tuesday, 13th March following the selection Sunday and the remaining two games played on the Wednesday, 14th March at Dayton, Ohio.
Once the first four game is played, The four winning teams will assume their places in the Brackets and they must play again on next week.
The first round is a round of 64 teams where each team play for a single goal and the winning team assume their places on the next round and the loses team eliminate from playing further on the current year. In NCAA March Madness First Round the no.1 seed plays the number 16 seed in all region and the no. 2 seed plays the number 15 seed and so on.
The effect of this tournament play structure, only the half of the total brackets go to the next round. That’s mean the total bracket team which is 64 for the 2018 season after the First four game played, reduced to half 32 teams. The First Round games are played on Thursday and Friday following the First Four.
The fist half (32 teams) will play the First round in Thursday 15th March and the 2nd Half (remaining 32 teams) will play on the next day at Friday 16th March 2018.
The Second Round is a round of 32 teams which teams won the First round game and the other 32 teams who looses in the First Round eliminated from the NCAA March Madness tournament. At this step only 32 teams left and they will play for the goal of NCAA March Madness tournament championship.
The second round will played immediately after the First round. The 16 winning teams for the Thursday game in First Round will play 8 games on Saturday 17th March and the remaining 16 wining team from Friday will play another 8 game on the next day at Sunday 18th March 2018.
The winning teams from Saturday 17th March and Sunday 18th March will proceed to the next round called Sweet Sixteen and the other teams who looses on the Second round will eliminate for participating on the 2018 NCAA March Madness Tournament.
Sweet Sixteen is a round of 16 winning teams from the Second Round. The sweet Sixteen also called as Regional semifinals. On Sweet Sixteen round, the 16 winning team from the Second Round will play total 8 Games on the during the second weekends of the March Madness tournament. The first 4 games will be played on the Thursday 22 March and the second 4 games will be played on the Friday 23 March 2018.
The eight winning team from the sweet sixteen will play to go to the next round called the Final Four. The Elite Eight round is a 8 winning team from the previous round. Usually the Elite Eight game played on the Saturday and Sunday following the Sweet Sixteen round.
The first two games will be played on the Saturday 24th March and the other 2 games on the next day at Sunday 25th March 2018. The effect of this game structure will reduce the eight team into 4 winning teams who will be played on the next round called The Final Four.
The Final Four game will be played on the Saturday 31 March 2018 where the winning team from each region and the Elite Eight round will play for the 2018 NCAA March Madness Championship. The final four will determine the two winning teams for the Championship game.

The National championship game is the final game in the NCAA March Madness where the two winning teams will play for the March Madness Championship trophy. The National Championship game will take place on Monday 2 April 2018.
